Synergy Release Therapy is a method of balancing the skeletal and muscular systems of the body so that they work together without compensation. It is a method of therapy which was created by John Patterson over thirty years ago. Isometric and passive resistant stretching are the foundation of the therapy. By releasing muscles and correcting the sequence in which they respond, the individual has better balance, quicker nerve response to muscles and less stress on the skeletal structure. By correcting a few muscles, nerve responses, and skeletal misalignments, the body functions better as a whole. It is the only known therapy that can be reversed if the desired effect is not obtained, by returning the body to its original form and alignment.

Synergy Release Therapy is different from other types of therapy in that the therapist looks for the "trigger" that causes the body to begin to compensate and lose its structural and muscular balance. The loss of body balance causes stress in a predictable sequence and eventually leads to weakness and/or pain in a particular area.  Many times these weaknesses lay dormant or occur gradually until the area is traumatized by falling, twisting a knee or ankle or exercising.

A SRT therapist is skilled in looking at the entire body, its movement, and the stress placed on key areas of the body which can lead to a painful condition. The therapist is also able to evaluate what muscles, tendons, and ligaments are most likely to be injured or hamper performance in various activities. Thus, SRT is preventative as well as corrective in its objectives.

How does it work?
The corrections in balance of the body are done through specific stretches which allow the affected area to assist in healing itself.  Many modern technological instruments are also used to speed up the healing and corrective process. Among these instruments are low intensity lasers, Frequency Specific Micro-current, and low voltage muscle stimulators.

All of the techniques used are non-invasive to the body and are designed to allow the client to help heal themselves.
